CHASING THE PEAK

"No fuel. No shortcuts. Just solar power, sheer will, and one outrageous dream. Three friends from the Swiss Alps built an electric expedition vehicle with their bare hands—and drove it higher than any zero-emission truck has ever gone.

We followed their journey from the edge of the Pacific to 6,510 meters above sea level—straight up the world’s highest active volcano. What they pulled off up there ranks among the wildest adventures I’ve ever filmed."

Claudio von Planta,
Filmmaker and Co-Founder Zenventures

They did it.

Three young visionaries—engineers, tinkerers, pioneers—set out to build an electric off-road truck that could climb higher than any land vehicle had ever gone before. And they pulled it off.

We were there with them. As the film team behind this journey, we captured every step: the welding sparks in the workshop, the silent tension before the first high-altitude test, the grinding tires on volcanic rock at 6,000 meters.
Our cameras rolled—sometimes shaking from the cold, sometimes from the emotion.

Authentic. Unfiltered. Unforgettable.

This is their story.

Their sleepless nights in thin air.
Their hands, stiff from cold and cracked by altitude, reached deep into the heart of their homemade electric engine, fixing what no mechanic could,
in a place no garage would reach.
Their grit, their vision, their engineering courage.

And yet, without the full crew, this mission wouldn’t have looked the same.

It was a team effort in the truest sense:
three pioneers behind the wheel, and a film team behind the lens.

Together, we climbed.
We carried gear, built solar panels, shovelled snow, and flew drones in 100 km/h winds.

We filmed, yes—but we also froze, sweated, and pushed on—side by side.

TO THE PEAK

The third ZENVENTURES film CHASING THE PEAK will highlight the engineering spirit and enthusiasm of three friends driving towards the highest active volcano on our planet. On their e-powered prototype truck.

The off-grid mission

Reaching higher altitudes than any vehicle before - 100% solar powered. An electric, all-terrain utility vehicle for agriculture and ski resorts is the vision of start-up DDP INNOVATION. The way to get there is by setting a Guinness world altitude record on the 6893m high volcano Ojos del Salado in Chile. The goal of the world record project Peak Evolution is to drive the prototype vehicle to the highest point ever reached by a land vehicle. The combination of innovation, sustainability, pioneering spirit and adventure give Peak Evolution the potential to generate an impressive media exposure and impact. Zenventures Productions will follow the three Swiss on their adventurous way to South America to create an exciting documentary film about self-developed clean energy mobility in action.

A world record with a literally higher sense

We are highlighting the potential of e-powered trucks and off-grid mobile solar power charging. A new Guinness World Record by climbing higher with an all-terrain utility vehicle than ever before.

Inspiring explorers

We believe that ambitious young adventurers and engineers can inspire a huge audience to take a more sustainable path. An e-powered prototype truck and foldable solar power units in action under the toughest conditions are among those we will highlight in CHASING THE PEAK.
